Museum Youth

Kelham Island Museum

Ongoing

Museum Youth are the youth panel of Sheffield Industrial Museums Trust. The group create their own exhibitions and events in the museum. They have their say on museum programmes and provide a fresh perspective on the museum. Members take part in a variety of workshops to learn new skills, including curating, photography and event planning. Museum Youth also work closely with professional artists. Members learn important skills, such as knowledge of event programming, museum roles and responsibilities, conducting successful meetings, and managing objectives.

So far the Museum Makers have curated their own exhibition for Big Draw 2019. Upcoming projects include creating art installations in the museum with local Sheffield-based artists.

Museum Youth meets fortnightly. You can get involved here.
