Igniting Ideas
In response to national Covid 19 lockdowns in Spring 2020, Ignite Yorkshire partnered with Junction Theatre on ‘Igniting Ideas’: a pack of creative activities and resources delivered directly to young people’s doors in Goole.
Seven artists were commissioned to create activities that drew on the rich industrial heritage of Goole, a port town in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The packs were distributed to young people by Goole Youth Action.
Below we have included free downloadable versions of some of these activities, which can be printed and used at home wherever you are…
Emergency Museum
Disaster has struck! We need an emergency museum, stat!
The Emergency Museum booklet was produced by Steve Dearden and the Writing Squad. This will take you through the process of setting up your own museum no matter where you are or what is around you.
Repeating Patterns
Download the Repeating Patterns activity and the Instructions to learn how to make your own gift wrap using a basic repeating template. This activity was designed by Katie Sunley of Katy Potaty Illustration.
Magic Cards
Learn a bit of street magic with the Magic Cards and Instructions, designed by Jon Dixon. This pack is inspired by Goole – why not have a go at making your own deck inspired by where you live?
Let us know if you have a go at any of these activities. We’d love to see your creations on any of our social media, which you can find on the bottom of this page.
