A Life Amongst the Diamonds: Youth Arts Festival
A Life Amongst Diamonds was the first ever youth arts festival at the National Coal Mining Museum.
National Coal Mining Museum
July 2019
The festival was planned, performed and marketed by young people, for young people, using the heritage of mining as the inspiration for performances. Performers included many local youth arts groups, including Green Top Circus, Yew Tree Theatre, Stride Theatre, and Northern Lights Academy.
The festival was designed and organised by the museum’s Young Volunteers. Volunteers worked on all aspects of the planning process of the festival, from marketing and booking performers, to stewarding and managing acts on the day.
