Arts Award Work Experience (2018)

Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet

July 2018

Year 10 students undertook two weeks of work experience at Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet in July 2018. The full-time programme focused on exploring creative interpretations of heritage. Participants worked with interactors at the museum in a variety of creative ways. This included drama workshops, activity trail writing, learning historic songs and song-writing, photography, prop-making, labelling artefacts, presenting to public audiences, and creating activities for younger children. The main assignment for each participant was to use their new skills to develop an interpretive tour of the site for the public. Participants built a portfolio of their work and earned a Bronze level Arts Award.
