Heritage Skills Days: Blacksmithing and Woodworking
National Coal Mining Museum
February 2019
The National Coal Mining Museum held two practical workshops in traditional heritage craft skills in February 2019. During the Blacksmithing workshop, participants worked with the Museum’s resident blacksmiths on basic metal working skills. The Heritage Craft Alliance also ran a two-day woodworking course. The main activity of the course was the building of a willow dome storytelling area for the Museum’s Nature Trail.
